To celebrate 1 year of the exciting collab with Max Wyld we did a shop update on Thursday 8th of Feb!
Over the last couple of months Max and I have been quietly working on a new batch of pots. He regularly comes to my studio and paints pots while I'm throwing, trimming or glazing. Working in the same space has really elevated the collab. We get a better understanding of how the other one works and ask for each other's opinion. I sometimes make specific shapes with Max in mind or ask him to draw me a vase which I try to recreate.
For this batch Max has painted on vases, plates, mugs, jugs and lots of other pots. His paintings are inspired by folk art, tattoos, Cornish painter Alfred Wallis and one of Max's favourite places in Cornwall. He's now also used white and grey underglaze. These pots are all one offs. Max will be away for the next couple of months, but once he's back we've got lots of other ideas we'd like to work on. If you sign up to my newsletter you'll be the first to know about the new batch.
