Contemporary ceramics
designed for everyday life
I make functional ceramics by hand and on the potter’s wheel, creating cups, bowls, plates, vases, candleholders and other objects. Experimenting with shape and form is a big part of my practice and I’m always exploring new ideas through both wheel throwing and handbuilding.
I make all of my own glazes and often incorporate wild clay and sea glass collected from places all over Cornwall. I love how these materials create unexpected textures and colours, making every piece completely unique while carrying a connection to the landscapes they came from.
The clay and the making process itself are a constant source of inspiration. When throwing on the wheel, I’m drawn to the balance between control and letting the clay guide the outcome. I enjoy discovering new forms and continually refining my techniques. Handbuilding and coiling allow me to move beyond symmetrical shapes and create more playful, sculptural pieces.
